Whats done, is almost done!
Sort of.
Because February and looks like March are spring cleaning/house decor months, I wanted to wrap up all the Paris odds and ends.
The blocks for the Paris lap quilt are finally done. Then I waited for my design wall to arrive.
Oh, I was so happy to set it up. 3 panels of notched styrofoam 2' x 8'. Perfect! Of course I had to make another 10 of the four patch blocks. But I think it is looking good.
But I have loads of spare blocks. I don't really want it bigger so maybe some for the backing and some for my traveling companion! I hate when this happens but I really thought I had the math figured this time! grrrr
Same time the panels arrived hubby also came home with my box for my journal. ooh, bright red and kinda big??? I can get creative and I do have stuff that didn't fit in the journal. I gessoed, painted, and crackled.
In between listening to my dear supervisor plan the spring cleaning, and YES, I am eternally thankful for him!!!; I worked on the box and kept looking at the journal.
I now know I can get carried away embellishing things but the plain box seemed too plain. I found a napkin and some tissue paper that worked. One thing about being rushed is I had no time to get carried away! lol
The journal just needs to be done; put inside and away. It is organized and just needs the things glued down and a few stamps and stickers. Again, whoa on all the extras. I do kinda like the less is more look but I forget that in the throws of creative exuberance!
I am determined to have it all in place and put away by the next art class. Sewing the Paris lap quilt will take longer as I have curtains, pillow cases, pillows , table runners and a few more quilts in mind for the spring decor projects.
I had lain awake last night because a really lovely butter yellow polka dot duvet cover from the thrift shop has been slated for curtains since the farm days. Oh, no! I have 2 windows in each room now. I have also learned that wishing and hoping as I forge ahead does NOT work. hmmmmm???? Creative thinking. I do believe I have a creative plan.
Next post will see me Springing into action in the guest room! I'm kinda excited to see what I will come up with!!! lol
