Seasons of Creativity

Dear Daughter and I have made all the plane connections, overcome jet lag, walked in a few circles, manoeuvred through the French transit system, bought a few things, seen some of the sights, tried to explain how Canadian coffee is made and shopped for groceries at the street markets,  smelled the flowers in the wonderful gardens and the ocean spray, and stood at the back of hundreds of tourists studying the Mona Lisa!  I was not prepared for how life changing this whole experience was. There is a screen in the back of the seat that one faces and it had all kinds of updates on our journey.  Nine hours from Calgary Airport (2 extra hours to get there) to Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris.  Then a long taxi ride to our hotel.  The taxi driver wasn't sure where we needed to go so DD used her handy dandy phone to show him.  When we arrived he smiled and said, not Hotel Br I gthton but Hotel Br EE ton!  It was the beginning of many new ways of speaking, thinking and trying to

Tying up the last things before I leave on my big adventure! Its kinda nice to be ahead of the game than galloping behind it!  The daffodils for the apricot forest  and the tiny blue bulbs for the blue island garden are all in the ground.  The saskatoon bush is the backdrop and my frost hardy monkshood is just starting to bloom.  The tubs will remind me to make two small water features and lime green plants/shrubs will compliment all the blue stuff. The well will get a small house for my old pump as a disguise.  Snow is falling as I type so I'm glad that is done.  It was a bonus that since we have gotten the bulk of the rain; the snow has inundated the city! The 2 days of clement weather allowed for getting the plank for the kitchen sanded down and sealed. Then the quilt was quilted and bound.     I decided to not get cute with the back so it is just two chunks.  The more I thought about the age of this project the more nervous I came about cranber
